Napping & Blueberries

Unrelated Topics

Napping.

Yesterday, I discovered the employee lounge in the basement of the Madison building of the Library of Congress.

Its a dim room that is PERFECT for napping. By some un stated agreement, people in this room are quiet and know that everyone is napping, and there to nap.

So, I eat my lunch at noon when the receptionist leaves for her lunch. Then at 1pm when its my lunch break, I head down to the lounge, wrap myself in my red shawl and snooze for about 20 - 30 minutes.

Sometime between 1:30 and 1:45, a very loud woman comes in for lunch. This is not a bad thing. She wakes everyone up and we all scurry out like rats from a suddenly lit room. It ensures that no one oversleeps! Being an untrusting git myself, I set my cell phone alarm for 1:50, just in case.

Power napping may just save my life at the LOC!

Blueberries.

On a completely different topic, Bronnie & the Pootie Wonder Child went blueberry picking today.

18 POUNDS of blueberries later, they came home. Apparently neither of them have any restraint when blueberries are involved!

Wow. What the heck are we going to do with 18 POUNDS of blueberries?

  1. I am a firm believer in power-napping during lunch! The last place I worked had a little napping couch in the break room that was blocked off from the rest of the room with cubical walls. Yep, every day was 50min nap lunches.

Now if I want quiet, I have to go sleep in my car with the a/c running.
